Listen below for a few impromptu recordings from our Holiday Ball dance in December 2014.
Popcorn Button is a swing band (16+ musicians) composed of volunteer musicians mostly from Atlantic and the surrounding community. The specific membership of the band varies from dance to dance based on who is available to play. Jake and Pam Auerbach are available to teach dance lessons at each event.

The goal of Popcorn Button is to provide an opportunity for local musicians to share their talent with the community and to have fun. Big band dances are a social, fun, and healthy way of accomplishing this. The goal of hosting dances is to provide an opportunity for community members to learn and enjoy social dancing, appreciate the tradition of big band music, and socialize in a fun atmosphere. Popcorn Button and the dance series was founded by Curtis Ullerich and Jake Auerbach in the summer of 2010.

Popcorn Button funds all events based on free will donations taken at the door of each dance. Surplus money is donated to charitable causes in the Atlantic community and used to support a scholarship for young musicians. Popcorn Button, as a general rule, does not play for private events and instead prefers to share the joy of music and dancing with the community at large, for free.
